How you can make your mark

Make your mark as a Business Controller for Subsea Cables! You are directly involved in managing the financial risks and opportunities of our large Offshore Wind tenders and projects. You are the sparring partner and the financial conscience of our tender & project teams and our business unit management. You positively influence decision-making that supports both daily performance and delivery of our business unit strategy. You maximize your positive impact by engaging as a true crew member, demonstrating intrinsic interest in and passion for our business, taking action yourself, and challenging team members.

If so, we would like to talk to you about the position of Business Controller within the business unit Subsea Cables.

Your responsibilities as Business Controller:

• Supporting the business by preparing, analyzing and monitoring periodic and ad-hoc management reporting/information for business unit management.

• Monitoring and advising during the tender and project execution phase on financial risks, such as tax, credit, forex, fuel price and supplier risks.

• Providing functional supervision, development and motivation to the assigned Project Controllers and Project Accountants of the business unit.

• Monitoring local tax compliance and advising on tax and financial structure during the tender and project execution phase.

• Pointing out, reporting and managing risks, deadlines/contractual obligations (particularly financial) and sharing ideas in these respects.

• Contributing to specific Finance improvement projects on business unit, divisional and/or corporate level.

You are the Business Controller we are looking for if:

• You have successfully completed a financial education, preferably focused on Controlling or similar: Bachelor - or Master degree in the field of Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy, Control or equivalent.

• You have several years of experience as a Business Controller or Financial Controller in an international environment, preferably in the maritime industry.

• You have a good command of the English language, both in word and in writing.

• You are a team player who works well with colleagues from different (non-financial) disciplines and is focused on building sustainable relationships and networks across organization.

• You are able to connect and act as a sparring partner for various stakeholders (e.g. project teams, tender teams and business unit management).

• You have strong analytical skills, you are goal-oriented and are able to work under pressure.

• You have an affinity with IT / ERP systems (e.g. MS Excel, Infor LN, Vena, Power BI).

Extra information

• Your team: You will be a part of a Finance team of 15 people including yourself. You report to the Business Unit Controller.

• Full/part-time: The position of Business Controller is a full-time (40 hours a week) role.

• Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly in the Papendrecht Head Office and partly at home.
